Shankweiler's Drive-In, established in 1934, is the oldest operating drive-in theater in the world and the second ever built. For over 90 years, it has delighted audiences with double features on its large outdoor screen. Located in the Lehigh Valley, Orefield, Pennsylvania, just off Route 309.

Then, after intermission, immerse yourself in the delightfully quirky world of Wes Anderson with the highly requested cofeature, and another new release, THE PHOENICIAN SCHEME.

If you love nostalgia, stars, and... aliens (!?) head to Shankweiler's Drive-in Theatre in Orefield, PA on June 17th for Retro Tuesday with Lehigh Valley Public Media. There, we'll enjoy a screening of the 1985 classic sci-fi film, EXPLORERS, where “the adventure begins in your own backyard!”

Before the feature begins, take a behind-the-scenes look at our weekly series Watching the Skies and explore the wonders of Mars, space travel, and astronaut life through clips from PBS39’s original program Moon to Mars.

For added fun, attendees will be entered to win space-themed door prizes or a membership to LVPM! The drawing will be held on-site.
