I used to go to Shankweiler's as a kid in the 70's and early 80's when I lived in Neffs. From what I can see, nothing has changed. It was fantastic then, and still is. This drive-in still has a place in my childhood memories. Now, I live in San Antonio. There aren't any drive-in theaters left here. Mission 4 got torn down 2 years ago. Maybe someone will open one back up some day, and model it after the best. Shankweiler's. I also saw the first release of E.T. there.

My husband took me to the drive in the weekend we got engaged 2 years ago and I fell in love. I look forward to the drive in every spring now! it is such a wonderful tradition that I hope keeps going for many years to come

I first learned about your drive-in from "The American Drive-In Theatre" and have been to several over the years. There's nothing like sitting under the stars on a warm night at the drive-in. If I'm ever in the area during the season, I'll be sure to drop in. Thanks for keeping the show on!

Hi. I grew up in Orlando, Florida, and eventually worked (asst. Manager) at the Orlando Drive In Theatre, one I had regularly attended as a kid, with my family. I worked there for almost 10 years, subsidising my income. It was a great time, I learned a lot about that sort of business, and miss it to this day. What I wouldn't give to get back to an old timey drive in theatre, crackly speaker, mosquitos and all. It was a great time for me, with wonderful memories attached. Glad to see you've survived the test of time.

I lived in Phila. For 30 year and when I was a kid we use to go to the drive inn , that was in the 70's , they all closed down in the 80's but I use to tell my kids about drive inns and after I moved to Hamburg in 98 we found Shankweiler's , and it was great the kids got to see a drive inn and a nicer one then the ones I went to as a kid , the kids are grown and don't live with me anymore but I still go to the drive inn and see a movie and the kids are missed I hope that they take there kids as a family it is great memory's for all
